Set for dinner, the table gives no visual hint of its second identity. White place settings, stemware, and candlelight sit across a surface finished dark enough to mirror the room without competing with it. The mountains across the water hold their color long after the light has gone flat everywhere else, and the glass wall behind the table frames that fading color the way a window frames a painting, so that the table below feels staged rather than simply placed. Even the chairs pull their tone from the water outside, a deep blue-green that echoes the lake rather than the room.
This is the Simply, a table built to move between two lives without ever looking like it is choosing sides. Underneath the dinner setting is a full pool table, and the shift between the two is the piece's quiet trick: nothing about the dining arrangement gives away what waits beneath it.
The frame is steel, finished in a lacquered powder coat, and the whole assembly, top and cushion together, comes in at just 7 centimeters thick, thin enough that the table reads as light even at close to half a ton. A three-piece Brazilian slate forms the playing bed underneath, chosen for the accuracy and roll consistency competitive play requires, paired with a cushion system built to keep rebound predictable. The cloth and bumpers are built to a competition standard, and the balls included with the table are Belgian-made, a detail in keeping with the table's overall attention to material.
Wood rails run the table's perimeter, softening the industrial line of the steel frame and giving the hand something warmer to rest against than the metal around it. Pockets follow the same minimalist logic as the rest of the design, cut narrow enough to stay visually quiet against the tabletop, built with just enough depth to hold a full rack of balls during play.
Customization runs deep, though the table in this room keeps things simple: a matte steel frame, wood rails, and a glass dining top that lets the lake do most of the visual work. The frame itself can be finished in nearly any color, matte or glossy, or in a wood stain if a painted look isn't wanted. Legs come in steel or wood, with wood legs opening up the option of hydraulic height adjustment. The dining top can run to painted or stained wood, an exotic veneer, or glass in clear, frosted, or enameled finishes. Two sizes are offered, at roughly 90 by 51 inches and 100 by 56 inches on the outside, with playing height set at the regulation 30 inches and dining height at 31.
For the homeowners, working through that many choices was made easy: they were "given all the choices, different options," down to felt colors sent so they could see them in real life before committing. The table needed to fit a dining room they use only a handful of times a year, and everything else needed to work as well as it looked. The install, they said, was "seamless, very easy," and the table itself has become the room's daily draw: "Friends and family come over now every day, so we have ongoing pool tournaments," far outpacing the handful of times the dining set underneath it actually gets used.
